MSAA provides outreach to 3,000 people at Black Women’s Expo 2018
MSAA hosted a stroke community education booth and the Black Women’s Expo at McCormick Place on April 6th-April 8th. Our message reached a lot of people. We handed out 1600 magnets, 1600 pact cards, 280 Koozies, 150 water bottles, 300 MI/Stroke assessment tool, 200 Women and Stroke handouts, and collected 461 signatures of people who promised to call 911 when they witness someone having a stroke. It’s estimated that we touched 3000 lives. An added bonus, WV103 was broadcasting live from the Expo and one of the DJ’s invited Dinene Jenkins-West, MSAA member and organizer of our group at the expo, to speak about stroke. Overall it was an awesome day of community outreach!
